Area residents are invited to join the City of York’s Park and Recreation and Library departments this Saturday anytime in between 9-11 oclock for the kick-off celebration of their new joint activity.. A “storywalk”… which is a project that combines the activities of being active and reading.. Deb Robertson with the York County library explained the idea.

The kickoff celebration for the summer-long event will unveil the first story, Read, Set Skip by Jane O’Connor on Saturday.   The walk covers a 1/2 mile section of Beaver Creek Trail, starting at the entrance on South Blackburn avenue.  Generous funding for the project was provided by York Elks Lodge, the York Lions Club, and the Friends of the Kilgore Memorial Library.
