NE Extension will host the 2018 Nebraska Cover Crop Conference on Thurs Feb 15 at the Eastern NE Research and Extension Center near Mead. Registration at 8:30am, program starts at 9am. There are many benefits to utilizing cover crops, such as improved soil health and reduced erosion. The focus of this conference is to provide info to growers in a corn/soy rotation and help them understand the value of cover crops. Topics include: The Banker won’t like wheat, but your soil will!; cover crops and insects; cover crops and ephemeral gully control; cover crops for corn and soybean producers; suggestions for cover crops from private crop consultants, presentations from farmers why they use cover crops, and a panel featuring growers, landlords, and consultants.
